Belief Statement

We at CET Ministries believe that:

 1.  Although the aspects of science related to the physical creation are significant, they are not as important as the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ’s life, death and resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:1 – 32 [especially verses 11 – 19]; and Romans 10:1 – 17 [especially verses 9 – 15; 17]).

2.  The teachings of a Creator and creation fundamentally cannot be separated from the Gospel message of Christ Jesus. (John 3:12, 5:39 – 47 [especially verses 39; 45 – 47]).

3.  All 66 books of the Holy Bible are the Word of God in written form, given by divine inspiration, and without error. In all the original manuscripts its assertions are truthful. (Proverbs 30:5; 1 Peter 1:17 – 25; and 2 Timothy 3:16, 17.)

4.  The book of Genesis contains the history of the origin of the universe and all life in a simplistic, yet completely factual manner. (Genesis 1 – 11; Exodus 20:8 – 11; Psalm 148 [especially 3 – 6]; Isaiah 42:5, 45:11, 12, 18; Matthew 19:1 – 6 [especially 4, 5])

5.  The LORD God of the Bible created the universe, the earth and everything therein in six consecutive, literal, approximately 24 – hour days, approximately 6,000 years ago. (Genesis 1 & 2; Exodus 20:8-11; 1 Chronicles 1:1-28, 2:1-15; Mathew 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38.)

6.  There is no scriptural basis for theories such as the “Theistic Evolution”, “Progressive Creation”/ “Day Age Theory”, “Gap Theory”, etc. A straightforward reading of Genesis 1 and 2, without any outside bias towards the interpretation of the text, makes this clear.

7.  The LORD God of the Bible created all forms of life by direct creation. (Genesis 1 and 2; Isaiah 45:12; John 1:1 – 3; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11) Biological changes have occurred since the creation in various life forms, but only within the created kinds. (Genesis 1:21 – 25) Fish are still fish; Frogs are still Frogs; Apes are still Apes; Humans are still Humans.

8.  Adam and Eve were the first humans, created specially (in the image of God) 5 days after the first day of Creation, and were not anything less than fully human. (Genesis 1:26, 27; Corinthians 15:45) Every human who has ever lived has been a descendant of Adam and Eve. No such thing as “differing races” exists (other than spiritually). (Acts 17:26)

9.  Death (in both physical and spiritual forms), suffering and pain, are the main, resulting consequences of the initial sin of Adam and Eve, and of all humankind since them. (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21, 22) Jesus Christ came incarnate, fully God, fully Human, into the world to pay the price of sin (death) for those who believe in Him, so that they might have eternal life. (Genesis 3:14, 15; John 1:1 – 14 [especially 14]; 3:16, 17; 1 Timothy 1:14, 15)

10.  The Flood (often called “Noah’s Flood”) mentioned in Genesis chapters 6 – 9 really did happen, and was worldwide (covering the entire earth) in nature and consequence, as evident in the “billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water all over the earth,” and especially the findings of marine fossils on the tops of mountains such as Mt. Everest. (Genesis 7:17 – 24)

11.  The Flood of Noah’s day was significant in geologic nature (Genesis 7:11, 8:2, 3; Psalm 104:6 – 9), and that many of the fossils and sedimentary layers found worldwide today are the result of the catastrophic, comprehensive, and destructive judgment of this Flood.

12.  Some time following The Flood, the potential for the people groups, languages, and cultures, seen today was set in motion by the confusion of the language of and scattering of those who built a great city and tower in resistance and rebellion to God’s command to fill the earth. (Genesis chapter 11 [especially verses 1 – 9])

13.  Societal / cultural “ills” (abortion, drug addition, promiscuity / adultery, divorce, murder / other crime, homosexuality, corruption of traditional “values”, etc., etc.) are the results of a rejection of the Word of God, with its foundational record of Divine Creation in the book of Genesis. (Deuteronomy 4:1 – 9, 16 – 19; Psalm 11:3)

14.  The Bible is authoritative in every matter that it covers, whether relating to religious / moral teachings, or to history / scientific records. (2 Samuel 22:31; John 17:17, 2 Timothy 3:16, 17, 1 Peter 1:23 – 25)

 15.  Nothing that claims truth that is contradictory to the scriptures can be valid. (Psalm 33:4; John 3:27 – 34 [especially verse 33], 10:35b; Romans 3:4)
