Evolution: Trick or Treat? Recap

4 11 2009

Friday October 30, 2009 – First night of the conference and what an encouragement it was!  We had a good crowd, and Dr. John Morris delivered a powerful message about the importance of having a biblical worldview when it comes to current issues in our culture.

Dr. John speaking on Creation, Evolution and Current Issues

After the session, many attendees stood around an asked questions of Dr. Morris and Dr. Nathaniel Jeanson.  It was an enjoyable time!

Saturday October 31, 2009 – Second day of the conference, and we were so blessed to have Dr. John speak twice.  His talks were on Questioning Evolutions Claims (geared towards youth), and then his fascinating presentation about Mount Saint Helen’s and what a powerful evidence it is for the Flood of Noah’s day!

The CET team (plus our Dad, and brother Jaden) were priviledged to get our photo taken with Dr. John.  He is a genial and funny man, with a great sense of humor.   It was a joy to work with him!

Sunday November 1, 2009 – Third and final day of the conference we were blessed to hear Dr. Jobe Martin present two powerful messages.  The first talk was on Creation Evangelism, how to reach the world starting in Genesis.  And then during the worship hour he brought a very eye-opening presentation on the alarming trend spoken of in Ken Ham’s latest book Already Gone: Why your Kids will quit the church and what you can to stop it.

Sunday evening Joel Kautt (founder and director of CET) spoke on Jason Lisle’s book The Ultimate Proof of Creation – basically a summary of his book and the tactics to use when speaking with a skeptic.

The Lord’s hand was at work before, during and after the conference and it is only by His grace that it came off!  We give Him all glory and honor and may His name ever be praised!

2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. 6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. 9 For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
